Water removal from oils and fuels is essential in certain industrial, hydraulic and automotive situations to reduce degradation, downtime and system failure. Our innovative technology has been used as a highly effective absorbent media within such filtration applications for many years.
Our Superabsorbent Fabrics, all containing our Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF™), are ideal for removing dissolved, dispersed, and free water from liquid or air, e.g., get low viscosity oils such as fuel to extremely low ppm levels. They offer elevated levels of water absorption for oil/fuel purification with minimal shedding without effecting oil additives.
We can achieve fabrics with up to 80% SAF™ content and have a catalogue of fabrics readily available to sample – you can browse these below.
Bespoke fabrics can also be manufactured if required.
So, what is SAF™?
SAF™ is a highly technical, soft, staple fibre, that absorbs significant amounts quickly. In fact, it can take in up to two
hundred times its own weight in water, even under load!! It also provides excellent levels of containment and retention, which can be hugely beneficial in a wide range of applications. We blend SAF™ with a wide range of other fibre types, to produce high performing superabsorbent fabrics and yarns that are all Powered by SAFology™.
