Last week we were happy to celebrate Spring Festival with our Chinese colleague Amanda via a fun culture-sharing event. During the day, we learnt more about the origin and traditions of the most important annual celebration for Chinese culture, enjoyed tasty festival food, wrote down our New Year blessing in Chinese characters on red ornaments with Chinese calligraphy brushes, and participated in an informative (but fun!) culture quiz. The event was filled with laughter and applause. It was well received by our staff from all different cultures, and a great opportunity for Amanda to share her culture with her colleagues in TAL.
