SAF is widely used as a superabsorbent within the wound care market due to its ability to capture and retain exudates. Further to this involvement within the medical arena, we gained interest from a customer who wanted to explore our absorbent fabric technology for use within a product designed for burns injuries.
In this instance, instead of the fabric being used to absorb from the wound, it would be used within a bandage as a carrier fabric to hold a proprietary gel for treating burns. After a period of product testing and trials, specific fabrics have been developed for this particular customer and integrated successfully within their products.
We continue to supply this customer commercially in a timely manner and are on hand to provide further technical and development support as and when required.
