Superabsorbent Yarns
In addition to our fabric capabilities, we can also manufacture superabsorbent spun yarns via one of our trusted global partners. As standard, these are a blend of Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF™) and Polyester, although other fibres such as Nylon, Cellulose and Aramids can also be used to add additional strength or functionality.
Historically, these yarns have been used as a water-blocker within fibre optical and power cables. However, they also have the potential to be woven or knitted into fabrics for products that require a unique absorbent layer.
We can achieve spun yarns at a range of deniers and have a catalogue of fabrics readily available to sample – you can browse these below. Bespoke fabrics can also be manufactured if required.
